Iven De Hoon has earned his spurs in legal and tax services. The Antwerp native has been at the helm of the tax consultancy ‘De Hoon en Partners Group’ since 2007. Iven De Hoon has also written several books, including some on international tax law.
Tax background
Iven De Hoon studied Law at the University of Antwerp. In addition, he also studied for a year at the renowned Vlerick Institute in Ghent. In 2009 Iven De Hoon won the ‘Willoughby Memorial Price’ (St. Jesus College Oxford) prize. From his father, who was a teacher, he learned that hard work, think creative is the key to success. He still applies this mindset and tries to pass it on to his own children. After his studies, Iven De Hoon started working as a tax lawyer at a large accountancy firm, where he enjoyed working for several years.
Smooth and accessible writing style
At some point Iven De Hoon decided to follow his other passion, which was writing. He became editor-in-chief and one of the driving forces of Indicator, a publishing house in Leuven. He has been doing this for over 15 years. From Indicator he published newsletters and advice letters in various European countries. Examples of this are ‘Tips and Advice Taxes’ and ‘Tips and Advice Real Estate’. The articles are aimed at practical advice for entrepreneurs.
Iven De Hoon was known for his smooth and accessible writing style, which makes even dry and complex material understandable and interesting for everyone. During this time, he also wrote several books on international taxation. Two well-known examples are ‘Tax havens’ and ‘How do I make myself invisible to the tax authorities’.
Because Iven De Hoon likes to keep developing himself, he decided that when his time at Indicator came to an end he would combine his passions for writing and interest in international taxes. This resulted in setting up his own tax consultancy; De Hoon & Partners.
De Hoon & Partners Group
Nowaday Iven De Hoon works at De Hoon & Partners, which he founded. De Hoon & Partners is an international tax consultancy that provides reliable legal and tax advice. This is being tackled in a creative way, as can be seen on the company’s website. The head office of De Hoon & Partners is located in Sofia, Bulgaria. There are also offices in several other countries and cities, including Antwerp and Amsterdam.
The aim of De Hoon & Partners is to provide personal and tax advice in a transparent manner.
